Westfield Fashion Square Mall
The Fashion Square Mall in Sherman Oaks is one of the largest and most popular shopping locations in the entire area. There are hundreds of stores and services across all categories, attracting a wide range of individuals and shoppers with various interests, budgets and desires. It has just about everything you’d want all in one spot, making it a great way to spend a few hours leisurely browsing or for entirely revamping your wardrobe or home.
The history of the Westfield Fashion Square Mall in Sherman Oaks is actually pretty interesting. It used to be known as the Sherman Oaks Fashion Square, and was opened in 1962. The big stores at the tame were Bullock’s and The Broadway. Like many local businesses and areas, the 1994 Northridge earthquake caused serious damage that required major renovations.
By 1996, the two previous anchor department stores became Bloomingdale’s, which has 220,000 square feet, and Macy’s, which has over 280,000 square feet. In 2002, the Westfield Group bought a portion of the mall, and renamed it the Westfield Shoppingtown Fashion Square, before it became the shortened Westfield Fashion Square in 2005.
As mentioned, the two large department stores in Fashion Square are Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s, both of which offer high end clothing, home products, jewelry and accessories, and more. Popular categories of stores within the mall include all of the typical finds, including fashion and jewelry stores, home furnishings, health, fitness and beauty stores, children and teen stores, electronics and entertainment, shoes, and more.
